Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals are still being held, authorities confirmed.

The arrests come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the those hurt during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
