I will overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua declared he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a huge disparity - at Miami's venue on December 19th.

Boxer's Mentality

"I'm going to break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, said.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."

Civil Exchange

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - normally recognized for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.

Jake Paul rather targeted ex Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Paul's Background

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He lost to British fighter Fury in last year.

Financial Success

Still, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's largest financial successes, regularly earning huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is actually happening.
